Deborah "Debbie" (Jackson) Miller, age 71, of Fonda, Iowa, passed away peacefully September 9, 2025 at Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda, Iowa surrounded by family. A come and go Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 1-5:00 p.m. at the Fonda Golf Course in Fonda. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements. Debbie was born on August 9, 1954, to Joshua "Jerry" and Mary Jackson in Brooklyn, NY. She was baptized St. Theresa of Avila and confirmed in St. John the Evangelist in Brooklyn, NY. In 1972 she graduated high school from Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn, NY. She was a member of faith at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Fonda, Iowa. Debbie's faith ran deep and never wavered; to every strife or woe she would always reply "pray for them". At the end of her high school year, one fateful phone call to the "wrong Miller" on the Fort Tilden Army Base changed her life forever: she met the love of her life David Miller. 51 years of wedded bliss began on May 11, 1974, in Brooklyn, NY. Shortly after they were married, a "trial move" to Iowa turned into building a lifelong legacy of family and love in Fonda, Iowa. They were blessed with five children: David, Mary, Ashley, Joshua and Matthew. Throughout Debbie's lifetime she worked various jobs as a secretary. She would be seen in a fashionable dress, red lipstick, beautiful long nails and high heels. Outside of work, Debbie loved spending time with her husband Dave and family. Her love of music was unmatched. She knew the lyrics to every song and loved snapping her fingers to the beat. Everyone that knew Debbie, at least once, got to experience a hug and a kiss on the cheek: also, likely a snort or too. She had the best laugh. Her love of her family and friends was everlasting. Left to cherish her memory are her children: David Miller of Fonda, Iowa; Ashley Miller of Storm Lake, Iowa; Joshua (Alissa Reinert) Miller of Sac City, Iowa; Matthew (Katherine Lai) Miller of Le Mars, Iowa; sister: Nancy (Bob) O'Neill of Staten Island, New York; sister-in-law: Lorraine Jackson of Franklin Square, New York; brother-in-law: John (Carol) Miller of Austin, Minnesota; along with an abundance of nieces and nephews she so loved. Debbie was welcomed to heaven by the love of her life, David Miller; daughter: Mary Rose Miller; her paternal and maternal grandparents; parents, Jerry and Mary Jackson; parents-in-law: Raymond and Evelyn Miller; siblings: Billy Jackson, Liz Reilly, Kenny Jackson, Lenny Jackson, Judy Carrion, Ronnie and Joe Kane; in-laws: Mike Miller and Judy Geary. Memorial donations may be made to the Fonda Golf Course in Fonda, Iowa, Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda, Iowa or Care Initiatives Hospice in Sioux City, Iowa.
