"Her faith and her love touched everyone she met."
Deborah "Debbie" Pearson, beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 9th, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born in April of 1955, Debbie was raised in
Orlando, Florida, where she graduated from Boone High School. She married the love of her life, Billy Joe Pearson, in June of 1975, embarking on a journey together that would be filled with faith, family, and the joy of a life well lived. Debbie and Joe built a loving home and raised their only son, Bill, surrounding him with warmth, encouragement, and the enduring strength of their Christian faith. Joe passed away in July of 2006, shortly after the couple celebrated 31 years of marriage together. In 2014, Debbie moved to
Pensacola, Florida, where she continued to thrive in her new community and found joy in the beauty of the Gulf Coast.
A gifted artist at heart, Debbie's greatest passion was painting. Her creativity flowed effortlessly onto the canvas, and her art became a reflection of her vibrant spirit and deep appreciation for the world around her. Debbie's devotion to Christ was unwavering; she was a proud and active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she supported the church's mission work and became known as a steadfast friend within the congregation.
Debbie was the proud grandmother of Annabelle and Jackson Joe Pearson, who were her greatest joys. She cherished every moment spent with them, never missing an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and milestones. Her love and support were a constant source of encouragement, and she will always be remembered as their biggest fan.
Debbie's gentle spirit and deep faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted mother, Carol Marie Castel; her loving sisters, Carol and Cindy; her beloved son, Bill Pearson, and his wife, Tasha; her treasured grandchildren, Annabelle and Jackson; and her faithful dog, Charlie. Debbie's legacy of love, faith, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She will be forever remembered as a devout Christian who loved her church family, supported its mission work, and poured her heart into those she held dear. Debbie's kindness, strength, and unwavering faith serve as a lasting inspiration to her family, friends, and community. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church's mission program in Debbie's honor. Services to celebrate her remarkable life will be held at Faith Chapel North in
Cantonment, Florida on Monday, January 19th at 2pm. A graveside ceremony will be held at Airline Baptist Church in Mayo, Florida on Wednesday January 21st at 11 a.m.
She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, she has kept the faith.
