Deborah Jane Rase, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2026.
Deborah was born on August 8, 1950, to the late Harold and Irene Rase. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted Christian who lived her life with compassion, kindness, and quiet strength.
She graduated from Grant Nursing School in 1971 and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. Following her military service, she continued her calling in healthcare as a registered nurse, caring for others with dedication and heart throughout her career.
She had a deep love for animals and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including shopping and getting her nails done. Above all else, Deborah treasured her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Deborah is survived by her daughters, Melinda (Mark) Hamer and Elisabeth "Beth" Wengert; her beloved grandchildren, Luke Morton, Catherine "Catie" Morton, Jude Morton, Grace Hamer, Rose Hamer, Tara Mills, and Nora Mills; her dear best friend, Debbie Petty; and many loving cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Irene Rase; her sons, Benjamin Thomas Wengert, who passed on October 5, 1990, and Andrew Eugene Wengert, who passed on August 14, 2001; and her brother, Thomas Burton Rase.
