DEBORAH A. ROLAND-FRANK
SEPTEMBER 27, 1951 TO AUGUST 6, 2025
Debby beloved wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, respected educator, caring friend, tireless humanitarian and volunteer passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Debby was born on September 27, 1951, the daughter of George and Anne (Coville) Roland.
Debby was a long -time resident of Rockland and a graduate of Clarkstown North High School, who later went on to earn a SUNY New Paltz BA in Education and a CCNY MS in Environmental Science.
Debby taught mathematics and science in the Montvale, NJ school system until her retirement in 2007. She was an educator to her core and thrived at the joy of the daily opportunity to shape and mold the next generation of leaders. Education was something she even became involved with in her retirement. Early in her retirement she volunteered in a local elementary school and organized and led an afterschool program promoting an annual Family Math Night which continues to this day.
Debby also volunteered a great deal of time building three websites and becoming webmaster for each of the three community organizations.
In her spare time Debby took particular pleasure in gardening and tinkering around the yard, with her specialty of growing and cultivating Sunflowers.
Debby was one who thrived on being in the outdoors no matter the season, and was an accomplished downhill skier. She liked competition and at age 73 won a Bronze Medal in the 70+ Ski Club NASTAR Downhill Slalom at Okemo Mountain this past January. She really enjoyed the sport with friends and most especially with her children and grandchildren. This past winter she enjoyed ski trips to Vermont, Colorado, and Wyoming with friends and family.
But one of the most enjoyable times for her was when she shared the last six years training and riding her own horse. Silas was a powerful Mustang that developed a very special bond with Debby because of the mutual respect they each shared for one another.
Debby is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Edward J. Frank. They have been blessed and enjoyed the last 18 years of retirement watching their children become successful in their careers and welcoming their 7 grandchildren into this world.
Debby is survived by her daughter Melita and husband Dan Love, son Richard and wife Kimberly Von Ronn, daughter Diana Von Ronn, son Brian and wife Suzie Frank.
She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Jett, Jake, Nell, Jack, Ava, Christopher, and Lila.
Debby's legacy is her vibrant and spirited smile, her nurturing ways, her commitment to community service and most of all her loving family values that impacted all that came to know and love her.
Debby's memory will be how she lived life to the fullest and made all of us a better person for having known her. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Deborah, please visit our Tree Store.
