Lillian Denise Winsko, lovingly known as Lil, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 surrounded by family, her favorite Monday Night Football playing in the background, pizza and beer being shared while laughter and memories filled the room. It was the perfect and most fitting ending to a beautiful life -embraced by loud, loving Italians, just as she had lived -full of smiles, warmth, and love.
Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, Lillian grew up on a small farm with her parents, Josephine and Alexander Freoni, and her siblings David, Beatrice, and Anacleto. At the age of 21, Lillian met her husband, Thomas Winsko, while they both worked at the Van Heusen shirt factory-Thomas as a head mechanic and Lillian as a talented seamstress. Together they built a beautiful life, eventually settling in Pearl River, New York. There, they raised two beloved sons, Randolph Alexander Winsko and Gregory Thomas Winsko, who were truly the light of her life.
Family was everything to Lil. She spent the last 20 years of her life living with her son Gregory and daughter-in-law Nicole. She adored her three grandchildren-Anna, Mia, and Tommy-whom she loved beyond measure. In her final years, she shared her days with her devoted furry companion, Nova.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and incredible Nonna whose love made everything better. Known for her warmth, subtle humor, and selflessness, Lil brought joy wherever she went. Her kind heart, strong spirit and love for family will forever be remembered. She now rests peacefully reunited with her beloved husband, Thomas, and her cherished son, Randy-together again in eternal love.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret's Church in Pearl River on Friday, October 10, at 10:00 a.m.
