Ada I. Carty

Ada Carty passed away at 84 (March 31, 1941 - June 5, 2025)
Born in Puerto Rico, Ada moved to New York City at the age of five and spent the rest of her life in New York-grew up in New York City, raised her family in Kew Gardens and retired in Nanuet. She was a devoted wife, a wonderful sister, and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Ada was predeceased by her parents, Monserrete and Enrique Aramburu; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Anna Carty; her husband, Thomas Carty; her sister, Margaret Bitsky; her brother-in-law, John Carty; and her sister-in-law, Catherine Walker.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Maureen Carty, and her brother-in-law, Harvey Bitsky; her children, Kenneth Carty, Karen Murphy (Gene), and John Carty (Sofia); her grandchildren, Kira Murphy, Christy Widmer (Will), Kylee Murphy, John Carty, Thomas Carty (Emma), and Kevin Carty; her great-grandchildren, Avery and Leah Widmer; as well as her nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in Pearl River from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass will be offered at St. Margaret's Church in Pearl River, New York, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, New York.
