Deborah Ann Schmidt

Deborah Ann Schmidt, of Republic, MO, went home to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on December 20, 2025, at the age of 66. She was born on November 2, 1959, in Lexington, MO, to William and Margaret (Manning) Hackett and was one of seven children. Deborah was blessed with two children, Brad and Daniel. She worked as a waitress and in retail when she wasn't being a homemaker raising her boys. Deborah never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. She had the kind of personality that people were drawn to. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing golf. Deborah was an avid flower gardener who not only enjoyed growing flowers but enjoyed the beauty she was able to add to the world through her gardening; however, her biggest joy came from her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Brad Ferguson and wife Sarah and Daniel Ferguson and wife Alicia, grandchildren Natalie Calcott, Lillian Ferguson, Haley Widner and Caleb Rogers, siblings Dennis (Debbie) Hackett, Jennie Oetting, Bruce (Dana) Hackett, Roy (Jen) Hackett and Henry (Lori) Hackett as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and countless friends. Deborah's kindhearted nature and generosity will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Deborah was preceded in death by her husband Donald Schmidt, brother Billy Hackett and her parents. A Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 29, 2025, from 11am – 12 noon at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic (314 N Main Ave, Republic, MO.) with funeral services to follow at 12 noon.
