Deborah Ray Schrieffer

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Deborah Ray Schrieffer passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the age of 74. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Marrero. As a former teacher and school counselor, she taught and guided many students throughout her life. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Harold Peter Schrieffer, III, by her son, Jacob Schrieffer and wife Sarah Brolin Schrieffer, by her three daughters, Casey Schrieffer Sanchez and husband David Sanchez, Kerry Schrieffer and husband Kevin Comarda, Jamie Schrieffer Fontenot and husband Evan Fontenot, and by her siblings William Joseph Ray, Jr. (wife, Maizie) and Linda Ray Milazzo (husband Frank, deceased). Lovingly known as Maw Maw and Mee Maw, she cherished her four grandchildren, Madison and Maxwell Sanchez, Scarlett Schrieffer and Goodson Fontenot. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph and Audrey Frady Ray, and by her sister, Brenda Ray Heffner. In keeping with her wishes, the family will hold a private gathering at home to honor and remember Deborah.
