Elaine Sauls Von Hoven

Elaine Sauls Von Hoven, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. A native of New Orleans, Elaine had made her home in Kenner for the past 16 years.

She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a retired special education teacher who had a deep passion for helping children. Elaine loved to dance and cherished her roles as a mother, sister, and wife.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Simpson, and her sisters, Dotsy Simpson and Carmel Simpson. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank R. Von Hoven; her daughter, Elaine (Lainie) Everhardt; her stepdaughters, Jane Von Hoven and Katie Von Hoven; her grandchildren, Victoria, Ponce Mason, and Trinity; her step-granddaughter, Gabrielle; her great-grandchildren, Briella, Armani, and Hazel; and her sisters, Kathy Aldritch, Eleanor Cefalu, and Karen Robin. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. A Catholic service will be held at noon, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
