Deborah Szyper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 2, 2026.
Deborah Ann Szyper was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Maryann Ann and Leonard Anthony Szyper, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up in the Juniata section of Philadelphia, where she attended Little Flower High School, class of 1980. In school and in her neighborhood she formed lifelong bonds and developed the strength and spirit that would define her in life.

She shared her childhood with her older sister, Karen Medvidik (husband Michael Medvidik), her younger sister, Pamela Stetler (husband David Stetler), and her younger brother, Leonard Szyper Jr. (wife Kimberly Szyper) and Clifford Sorrell, step-brother. The love and history they shared remained an important part of her life.

Debbie's greatest pride and purpose were her daughters, Alexandra Jesus and her youngest daughter, Taylor Bogan (husband Stephen Bosler) and her two beloved cats, Salem and Casper, whom she lovingly referred to as her sons. Through Alexandra, she was blessed with her cherished grandchildren - Avery Adkins, Jordyn Lasky, Aidyn Adkins, and Anthony Adkins- who brought her immense joy and pride. Being a mother and grandmother was not just a role for Debbie; it was her whole heart.

Debbie dedicated her life to caring for others, working for many years in healthcare and insurance. She approached her work the same way she approached her life with integrity, compassion, and a genuine desire to help. She believed in showing up for people, and she did so tirelessly.

She was known for her kindness and generosity, the type of woman who would truly give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. She had a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and important. Hosting was one of her great joys; her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and full plates.

Debbie had the most radiant smile the kind that could light up a room, and she loved to dance whenever she had the chance. She carried herself with independence and strength, fiercely protective of those she loved. When it came to her family, she was unwavering. She was their defender, their safe place, and their backbone.

Debbie poured love into everyone she encountered. She showed up sometimes even for people she had only met once, offering kindness freely and without hesitation. She was almost kind to a fault, always believing in the good in others and leading with her heart.

A light like hers does not go out; it lives on in every life she touched.

If Debbie ever touched your life, made you smile, comforted you, defended you, or made you feel seen, she would want you there. She would want the room filled with the people she loved and the lives she impacted. The love she gave so freely deserves to be felt all around her.

Her family invites, all friends, and all those whose lives Debbie impacted, no matter how briefly, to join in honoring her.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Beck-Givnish Funeral Home 7400 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19055.
