Deborah Tawzer, affectionately known as Debbie, passed away on January 16, 2026, in Washington, Georgia. Born on May 16, 1967, in Tifton, Georgia, Debbie was a vibrant and spirited individual whose life touched many. She graduated from Lincoln County High School as a member of the Class of 1986 and furthered her studies at Augusta Technical College, ultimately carving out a fulfilling career in the medical field, focusing on office management and billing.
Debbie was known for her big heart and her adventurous spirit. She had an infectious laughter that resonated with all who knew her and will forever be cherished. Friends and family fondly remember her playing softball, driving her striking red T-top Trans Am with her natural blonde hair flowing in the wind, and the fun times they shared together. She had a unique ability to embrace life’s adventures, never taking things too seriously, yet always standing up for those in need, making her a beloved presence in her community.
Her sons, Seth Wilkin of Augusta and Caleb Wilkin of Lincolnton, were her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in being their mother. Debbie is also survived by her brother, Earl Tawzer, Jr. and his wife, Marcie, of Washington, her sister, Christie Tawzer Wilkinson and her husband, Erick, of Virginia, and nieces and nephews; Garrett, Hunter, Taylor, Kayden, Ethan and Rachel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Tawzer, Sr. and Caroline McCook Tawzer.
A Celebration of Life honoring Debbie will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Smyrna Community Church, located at 100 South Smyrna Church Road, Washington, GA 30673. This celebration will begin at 2:00 PM. Friends, family, and all whose lives were enriched by Debbie's kindness and warmth are invited to gather in her memory.
Debbie's spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will be cherished in the hearts of many.
