Obituary published on Legacy.com by Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Feb. 5, 2026.
Deborah Vaught, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away at home on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Debbie was born on September 13, 1951, to Lyle and Betty (Beach) Rinker in Port Huron, MI.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stephen Vaught of Battle Creek, Michigan; a daughter, Kathleen (Thomas) Wojciakowski, and granddaughters, Kasey, Kendall and Kylie Wojciakowski; granddaughter, Abbie Vaught, Abbie's mother, Heather Davison; brother Timothy (Estrella) Rinker, brother James (Elene) Rinker; nephew Eric Rinker; sister and brother in law Dianna (Vincent) Ferraro. She was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Vaught, her father, Lyle Rinker, and mother, Betty Rinker.

Debbie loved gardening. In her active years, she received recognition from the city of Battle Creek for her landscape work through its Curbing Urban Blight project. An avid crocheter, she enjoyed making blankets, sweaters and hats for her loved ones. Steve and Debbie enjoyed many years together as a wedding photography duo. Debbie was imaginative and creative and anyone who knew her also knew of her fondness for all things Winnie the Pooh. The silly old bear said it best, "How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard".
