Alice M. Vaught (née DeBoard), born December 29, 1928, passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 97.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Carl Vaught, with whom she shared six years of marriage before his passing. Together, Alice and Carl were well known in their community as the owners and operators of the 50 Club in Owensville, Ohio, a place that brought people together and reflected their hardworking spirit and love for community.
A woman of deep and enduring Catholic faith, Alice lived her life guided by prayer, compassion, and service. Her faith was a steady source of strength throughout her life.
She is survived by her four children: William Backer and his wife, Kimberly Backer; Robyn Jacobs (née Backer) and her husband, David Jacobs; Kristy Branscum (née Backer); and Johnna Williams (née Vaught) and her husband, David Williams. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Alice will be remembered for her strong faith, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the many lives she touched.
Memorial donations may be made to the League for Animal Welfare by those who feel led to do so.
She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
The family will be receiving friends Friday January 16, 2026 10 - 11 AM at John H. Evans Funeral Home 741 Center St. Milford, Ohio. Funeral service to follow at the funeral home 11 AM. Burial to follow at St. Louis Cemetery Owenseville, Ohio.
