It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Grant Stephens, who left us on March 9, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on July 18, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim lived his life to the fullest, making an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A spirited entrepreneur, Jim was the proud owner of a tile flooring business, where he poured his creativity and passion into every project. Though he never earned a formal degree, he possessed a keen sense of business acumen and a determination that inspired many.
Jim was also a man of many talents. He loved traveling the world, capturing stories and experiences in his memorable book, "Uncovering the Hidden Road". His creative spirit extended into music and poetry, where he found joy in playing the guitar and writing heartfelt verses that resonated with family and friends.
Offering his love and guidance, Jim was a cherished father to his sons, Shaun (Paula), Jason (Heather) and
and Jesse his daughter Shivon, was a constant source of pride for him. As a grandfather to ten beautiful grandchildren-Megan, James, Alexander, Luke, Shana, Jasen Jr., Josh, Jalynn, Jocelynn, James and Skylar-he found immense joy in spending time with them, sharing stories, music, and life lessons.
Jim leaves behind a loving family, including his brother Bob (Linda) Stephens, sister Kathie (Jeff) Landers, step sisters Susan Keim and Chris Keim Busell who will forever cherish their memories of him. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
In celebration of Jim's life, a memorial service will be held on March 17, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home in Milford. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation earlier that same day, starting at 5:00 PM. We welcome all who knew and loved Jim to join us as we share stories, laughter, and fond memories of a truly remarkable man.
Though we mourn his departure, we take comfort in knowing Jim's adventurous spirit will remain with us, inspiring laughter and love for years to come.
James was preceded in death by parents Maude & Robert Stephens Sr.
