Judith R. Vaught

Judith R. (Rooney) Vaught, age 82 of Canton, passed away early Thursday, February 26, 2026. Born in Canton to the late Martin J. and Mable (Marks) Rooney, she was preceded in death by her daughter Wendy Vaught, son Dr. Martin O. Vaught, sisters Susan J. Rooney, JoAnn (Raymond) Scanlon, Janet Powell, Maryann Harry and brother Dan Rooney. Judith was a 1962 graduate of Lehman High School where she participated as a majorette with her twin sister. She was totally dedicated to her family. She is survived by her husband of 57 years John C. Vaught, Sr., son John (Amber) Vaught, granddaughter Ava Vaught, sisters Retta Maynard, Nancy (Richard) Biggerstaff, brother Michael (Cindy) Rooney, sister-in-law Betsy Rooney, brother-in-law Donald Harry and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 3 to 4:30 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 9, 2026, 11:00 am, at Guardian Angels/St. Joseph Church. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Judith's name may be made to Sancta Clara Monastery.
