Deborah Boich Ireland Veigel, passed away from this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in the Truman House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
“Deb,” as she was often called, was born in Dover on January 18, 1954, to the late Voin W. and Jeanne E. (Keppler) Boich.
She was a 1972 graduate of Dover High School and became a Buckeye the following fall. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree with honors from The Ohio State University in 1976. While at Ohio State, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and remained a lifelong supporter of her Alma Mater.
Deb began a lengthy career helping others, particularly in the field of Developmental Disabilities. She was known for her acts of kindness and selfless giving, her wit, and the entertaining entries on her Facebook pages. She also avidly supported the music and sports programs in which her sons were involved while at Dover High School. This continued into the second generation, as one of her great loves was following the activities of her grandchildren.
Deb is survived by her two sons, Matthew (Sara) Ireland of Hudson, and Andrew (Tara) Ireland of Dover; step-daughter, Tiffani (Eric) Wolfe of Canton; grandchildren, Mason, Bryce, Kacy, and Keppler; step-grandchildren, Leigha, and Lucas; sister, Becky (Bob) Horn; nieces and nephews, Amy, Laurel, Jonathan (Julie); great nieces and nephews, Quinn, Parker, and Beau; and sister-in-law, Mary (Dennis) Kosko.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Allen “Chip” Veigel.
Cremation care has been entrusted to the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. A graveside service will be held at Dover Burial Park on Saturday, Aug 3, 2024, at 3:00pm.
