Erwin R. Veigel

VEIGEL, Erwin Richard Age 90. November 10, 2025.

Beloved husband of Janet for 54 loving years. Loving father of Christina (Jeffrey) Marchione, Caroline (Timothy) Rotarius and Michael Veigel. Cherished grandfather of Andrew (Bailey) Marchione, Elise Marchione, Erin (Glen) Doody and Austin (Chelsea) Marchione, Heather Rotarius, Adam Rotarius and Jake Rotarius. Adored great-grandfather of Jack, James, Miles, Amelia and Emma. Dear son of the late Otto and the late Emilie. Dear brother of the late Otto Veigel and the late Lotte Rechenbach.

Erwin was born in Ludwigsburg, Germany immigrated to the United States in 1960. He took his trade of copper sheet metal work with him to work on many of the historical buildings in Detroit. Erwin and Janet were longtime members of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eastpointe before joining Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica. Erwin enjoyed traveling with his wife and long walks with his dog. He was also passionate about woodworking and gardening. He bowled on many leagues over the years. Erwin will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

There will be a memorial service for Erwin on Tuesday, November 25, 2024. Memorial Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30am until the time of the Memorial Service starting at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 45160 Van Dyke Ave in Utica.
