Deborah Yoder Obituary

Deborah J Yoder

October 23, 1950 - November 10, 2025

Port Matilda, Pennsylvania - Deborah Jean (Barnhart) Yoder, 75, of Port Matilda, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born October 23, 1950, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Harold W and Carol J (Wutzler) Barnhart of Columbus, OH. On June 12, 1971, she married Edgar Paul "Bud" Yoder, who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Scott Yoder and his wife Brenda of State College, and Suzan Bailey and her husband Stephen of State College; six grandchildren, Paul Yoder, Brandon Yoder, Amber McMahon and her husband Nathan, Victoria Bailey, Remmington Bailey, and Savanna Bailey; one great-granddaughter, Carter McMahon; her brother, Daniel W. Barnhart of CA, a brother-in-law, Les Yoder and his wife Roseanna of OR, and Jean Landon and her friend Jerry Farnsworth of OH. Also surviving are cousins, nephews, and uncles in FL, OH, IL, KS, and CA.

Deb was employed at the State College Area School District in the Learning Enrichment Department for twenty-one years. She was especially interested in supporting youth development initiatives that benefited all students, but especially our marginalized students.

Deb enjoyed traveling, beaches, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was an avid bowler and golfer. In 2013, she was inducted into the Seven Mountains Bowling Association Hall of Fame in recognition of her contributions in youth development. Deb was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, and exhibited her cross-stitching pieces at various exhibitions – the home is extensively decorated with her beautiful work.

She was a thoughtful, kind, and caring person who dearly loved her family and friends. She was a woman of great resolve, faith, and conviction who always helped others succeed.

A celebration of life, where all are welcome, will be held June 13, 2026 at 1:00PM at Deb and Bud's residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or a charity of the donor's choice and to do a kind deed for another person.
