Debra Sue Abbott

Debra Sue Abbott, age 55, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at MCHS Chippewa Valley in Bloomer.  She was born on November 5, 1967 in Sparta Wi to Nelson and Mary A. (Jecevicus) Abbott.  She moved to Bloomer in 1977 where she worked as a CNA in a group home in Tilden.On July 6, 1992, she married Michael R. Marek at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer.  On July 24, 1993, Sarah Marie was born and Debra became a stay-at-home mom.  She and Sarah enjoyed doing puzzles while listening to their many Gaither Homecoming music discs.  They enjoyed riding bike with Sarah’s dog, Jackie, pulling Sarah along. Debra talked with her mom every day …“good mornings”, “good nights” and plenty of “I love you’s”.

 

She is survived by her daughter:  Sarah Marie, husband:  Michael Marek, mother:  Mary Thompson, brothers:  Richard Abbott of Bloomer and Andrew Abbott of West St. Paul MN; numerous other family and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, step-father, father-in-law; and numerous other relatives.

 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Bloomer Cemetery.
