Debra Ann Alred, born on March 3, 1955, in Wyandotte, passed away on August 21, 2025, in Flat Rock, at the age of 70.
Debra's life was a testament to her love for nature and creativity. She found immense joy in gardening, where she cultivated not only beautiful plants but also lasting memories with those she loved. Her passion for camping allowed her to embrace the serenity of the outdoors, while her crafting skills brought joy and inspiration to many.
For a decade, Debra dedicated her time to volunteering at the Henry Ford Museum, where she cherished the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life and share in the wonder of history and innovation.
Debra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Delores. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Donald Alred, who was her steadfast partner throughout their years together. She is also survived by her siblings Terry Haidy, Timothy (Denise) Smith, Daniel (Tony) Smith, and Tracy (Nicole) Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will deeply miss her warmth and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cancer Foundation, in honor of Debra's memory and her enduring spirit.

I met Debby when she joined the Village Herb Association in 2014 and quickly formed a friendship with her as we worked in the garden at Greenfield Village. Debby was one of those people that you were glad that she came into your life. I will miss her much.

Debra, was a devoted gardener at Green Field Village. She was always upbeat and cheerful and fun to be around. She will be sorely missed.

I remember when Deb would come to Sturgis and Big Hill Acres where we had 65 acres of woods. We had so many great memories there. Deb's mom, Delores would be playing the tigers games. Our parents were there also. When the parents wanted quiet, they would say "why don't you kids go out and play in the woods, 65 acres"! Deb was the first to turn 16 and could drive a car. Terri, Jen, Deb and I would go tooling thru town. Jen and Terri had squirt guns in the back seat. When a group of guys would drive by Terri and Jen were squirting them. We must have driven Deb crazy. I will always treasure the memories I have with Deb. I love you Deb. She is in God's hands now. Marie Ungar Swihart.
