Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Debra "Debbie" Bourque, 67, who passed away December 26, 2024 in New Orleans. Father Gregory Chauvin, pastor of St. Jules Church, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Dale Bourque of Scott; one son, Brannon (Jaclyn) Bourque of Judice; two sisters, Geraldine Venable of Cankton and Joann (Carl) Judice of Lafayette; three brothers, Bradley Menard of Duson, Glen Menard of Sunset, and Teddy Menard of Duson; and her two granddaughters, Bailee and Chloe Bourque. Debra shared a special bond with her two granddaughters, and was loving called "Gammie".
She was preceded in death by her parents,Gertie and Skurdy Menard.
Debbie loved her family and friends and her two best friends, Myra and Lose, who she shared a lifelong friendship.
The family requests that visitation be held on Friday morning between the hours of 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. A rosary will be led by Deacon Jake Prejean at 11:00 am.
