It is with profound sadness yet a deep sense of peace that we announce the passing of Debra Ann Bowen, a devoted servant of Christ, on April 1, 2023, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Born on November 22, 1956, in
Rome, New York, Debra Ann was a beacon of light to her family and community, embodying the essence of a faith-filled, loving, and kindhearted individual.
Preceded in death by her cherished parents, Gordon and Hope Venneau, Debra's legacy is carried forward by her loving husband, James Bowen, with whom she shared a blessed and enduring partnership. She was the beloved mother of sons Glenn Hovey (Susan) and Johnathan Hovey, and the adored grandmother of Ty Malone and Jacob Hovey. Her warmth also touched the lives of her siblings, Mark Venneau, Michelle Chaisson, Donny Venneau, Ernie Venneau, and Gordon Venneau Jr, as well as her many devoted nieces, nephews, and extended family members who found comfort and guidance in her unwavering presence.
Debra's life was marked by an inexorable dedication to her faith. She was a pillar in her church community, routinely partaking in Bible study and extending her love of Scripture to those around her. Her compassion was her testimony, and she lived her beliefs through every action and spoken word. Unsurprisingly, Debra found her greatest joy in the company of her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she blessed with unending support and the gentle wisdom that can only come from a life well-lived and firmly rooted in love.
In honoring Debra Ann Bowen's journey on earth, we celebrate a soul that has undoubtedly ascended to join the Heavenly Father she so devoutly worshiped. As we bid farewell to Debra, we do so with the assurance that her spirit will forever serve as a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We take solace in the blessed hope that Debra is now in the presence of her Creator, worshipping in eternal glory. Her life was a testament to the virtues of faith, family, and selfless love. Debra's absence will be deeply felt, but the indelible mark she left on the hearts and souls of those who loved her will remain, sustaining us until we meet again beyond the veil.
2nd Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
