Debra Jean Burt

Debra Jean "Debbie" Burt, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2025, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Debbie was born on July 11, 1954, in Dayton, Kentucky, to Howard and Mary Alice Sherman. She lived most of her life in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she built lasting friendships and raised her family before later relocating to Mississippi.

She was the devoted wife of Anthony Burt, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Together they created a life rooted in love, commitment, and family.

Debbie was a proud and loving mother to Marylou, Jennifer (Greg), Karen, Heather, Amanda, and Marc (Heather). Her legacy lives on through her 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Known affectionately as "Debbie," she had a vibrant spirit and a warm heart. She loved dancing and listening to music, finding happiness in the simple pleasures of life and in time spent with those she loved. Her kindness, laughter, and gentle presence will be deeply missed.

A private ceremony will be held with family to honor and remember Debbie's life.

She will always be remembered for her deep love of family, her joyful soul, and the many lives she touched.
