Holland Funeral Service & Crematory - MonroeDebra Rorie Compton, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on July 31, 1956, to the late William (Bill) and Dot Rorie. Debra was a lifelong resident of Monroe, North Carolina, and dedicated her life to serving others. Her remarkable career spanned 23 years with the City of Monroe, where she became known for her unwavering commitment, reliability, and genuine care for the people she served.
As a faithful servant of her community, Debra was deeply involved in her church, being a dedicated member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church, where her faith played a pivotal role in guiding her daily life. She is remembered for her servant's heart, quiet strength, and the profound love she shared with her family, friends, coworkers, and church family. Debra found immense joy in worship, fellowship, and lived out her beliefs through kindness and service to others.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jeffery G. Compton, with whom she shared almost 51 wonderful years of marriage in March. Debra is also survived by her daughter, Tiffany Whitley (Lew), and sons William Compton (Kristen) and Phillip Compton (Dea). She leaves behind a loving legacy as a grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who will carry her spirit and teachings forward. She is also survived by her siblings William T Rorie IV, Donald Rorie (Sylvia), Andrea Rorie and sister in law: Patsy Rorie.
Debra is preceded in passing by her brothers, Harold Rorie and Caroll Rorie (Joyce), and sister in law, Linda Rorie.
A memorial service to honor Debra's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, 2509 Mountain Springs Church Rd, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Debra Rorie Compton's life was a testament to love, faith, and selflessness, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain Springs Baptist Church.
