Debra Ann Davis

Debbie Davis, 68, a resident of Southaven, MS, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024.Debbie was a graduate of Southaven High School, where she was a star athlete in basketball and track, cheerleader, honor graduate, and loved and respected by her peers.She received many honors and awards while at Southaven High School. Among those were Hall of Fame, Who's Who Among American High School Students, Most Athletic, Class Favorite, Beauty, Miss SHS, and Homecoming Queen. She was also a graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College. Debbie retired from the U.S. Postal Service.Debbie is survived by her siblings; Bonnie Woolbright of Hernando, Bubba Davis (Margaret) of Walls, Tina Ware (Jessie) of Horn Lake, and Regina Gelormine (Barry) of Southaven. She is also survived by her nieces; Nikki, Brooke, and Brianna; her nephews; Jamie, Shane, and Chase; her great nieces and nephews; Makala, MacKenzie, Tristan, Ledger, Walker, Silas, Brody, and Hudson; her great-great niece and nephew, Blakely and Gates.Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Ruby Davis, her brother-in-law, Mike Woolbright, and her beloved pet, Riley.Debbie was a long-time member of Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. She had a heart of gold and would go out of her way to help people. Debbie loved visiting nursing homes and the elderly, before she began having health problems a few years ago. She also had a tremendous love for her family and friends.A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Hinds Chapel Cemetery, 4866 Fogg Road, at the corner of Church and Fogg Road in Nesbit. In remembrance of the beautiful life of Debbie, her family warmly invites you to share in a celebration of their loving sister's journey.The family of Debbie Davis wishes to extend our sincere thanks to St. Francis Hospital ICUteam, Regional One Health Extended Care Hospital team, Bill Walker, for delivering her eulogy, and the many prayer warriors who faithfully prayed for her during her recent illness.Hernando Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
