Debra (Debbie) Hazel Morris Denham, age 72 passed away on January 3, 2026.

Debra was born on April 29, 1953, in Gainesville, Texas, to Clinton Monroe Morris and Hazel Willie Jones Morris, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the youngest of eight children.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Royce “Bo” Morris and Richard “Dickie” Morris, and her sisters Lenora Adele Morris Garrett and June Willie Morris Henry, and her husband Bennie Denham. She is survived by her brothers Bill Morris and Donald “Donnie” Morris, and her sister Sandra Ann Morris Kemp.

Debra met the love of her life, Bennie Dewayne Denham, while working as a dispatcher for the Cooke County Police Department. Together they shared 37 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, loyalty, and devotion to family.

She was a proud mother to three children: Lisa Leigh Donihoo; John William Vaughn, who preceded her in death; and Phillip Jason Vaughn, who also preceded her in death.

Debra was a cherished grandmother to Joshua Coe Vaughn, Kimberly Elizabeth Vaughn DeVries, and Camberleigh Nicole Sanders, and a devoted great-grandmother to Kennedy Rae DeVries, who was truly the light of her life and whom she loved “to the moon and back.”

Debra will be remembered for her unwavering dedication and loyalty to her family and loved ones. She was always the first to help in a crisis, the first to listen, and the first to offer comfort. Her warmth, kindness, and compassionate spirit brought light into the lives of everyone who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on February 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs, Texas.
