Debra Gray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Cemetery, Crematory - Gig Harbor on Jan. 3, 2026.
Debra Lee Gray, known to many as Debbie, was born on July 16, 1953, in Tacoma, Washington. She passed away on December 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and compassion that will always be remembered by those who knew her. Debra's warm and empathetic character created a beacon of light in the lives of her family, friends, and even the customers she interacted with during her long and fulfilling career in retail. As a wise man once said, "The greatness of a person is found in their ability to affect those around them positively," and Debra embodied this truth.

Debra was a humble soul who found joy in the simple things in life. She had a particular love for her family, friends, and her unwavering desire to do good in the world. Her love for sports was undeniable, with her favorite teams being the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners. Win or lose, Debra's enthusiasm was infectious, as she cheered when they were winning and humorously switched the channel when they weren't. Her courage was not only evident in her everyday life but also shone brightly during her retirement from Fred Meyer in 2024, where she had dedicated many years of service in customer care.

She is survived by her loving wife of 25 years, Karen Jensen, and her mother, Leona Gray. Her father, James Gray, preceded her in death. Debra's love for Karen was a beautiful testament to their enduring bond, as Karen described Debra as the love of her life. Their love story was a testament to the power of love and the unyielding strength of human connection.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM PST at the Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Crematory, and Memorial Park, located at 8503 Washington 16, Gig Harbor, Washington, 98332. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available at https://my.gather.app/remember/debra-gray.

We encourage those who knew and loved Debra to celebrate her life by sharing memories, photographs, and stories on her memorial page. These shared memories will serve as a testament to Debra's remarkable life and the profound impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
