Debra Louise Grijalba, 67, of Hanover passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.
Debi was born Debra Louise Olson on May 24, 1957 to Clayton & Charlotte Olson. She was raised in Orange California. Debi was raised in a very strict traditional family. She was the youngest of two daughters.
Debi was a rebel, to no one's surprise. She thought outside the box, found ways to have a little fun. Debi was a performer from the time she could walk and talk. She was always putting on a show. It was no surprise, with lessons, she could sing like an angel. Anytime someone heard her sing and perform, she was remembered.
She performed with her father on the "The Lawrence Welk Show". She became interested in theater through her mother. She performed in many theaters such as "Sound of Music" as Brigitta Von Trapp also as Marie Von Trapp, "Peter Pan" as Wendy, "Fiddler on the Roof" as Hodel, "My Fair Lady" as Eliza Doolittle, "Carousel" as Carrie Piperidge and many other parts in her history.
She is survived by her Husband Bill [William] Grijalba of Hanover, NM, Niece Candy Ambrosia of Anaheim, CA, Sisters Cheryl (Barc) Walker of Tucson, AZ and Nancy Olsen of Prescott, AZ.
Services will be at five o'clock in the evening on Sunday, October 13th 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapel 3805 Delk Dr, Silver City, NM 88061. Donations to be made to Silver City Elks BPOE 413, Silver City NM local Veterans' Program.
