Debra Hebert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory - Broussard on Nov. 21, 2024.
Debra Hebert passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on December 9, 1967, in Franklin, Louisiana, Debra was a devoted resident of New Iberia for the past 33 years.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory includes her fiancé, Floyd Marceaux; children, Trent, Elise (Dusty), and Hydie (Tray); grandchildren, Emberlyn, Xavier, Maisyn, Aurora, and Everly; parents, Elton and Carol Hebert; siblings, Dawn (David), Chantelle (Stephen), and Shannon (George); and her loyal furry friend, Duke.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Albert and Agnes Bailey, and her paternal grandparents, Neville Sr. and Lillian Clement Hebert.
Debra's life was defined by her passion for her family, community and friends. A gifted cook, she found joy in creating meals that brought people together. Expressing her Cajun roots, she looked forward to sunsets on the levee and the serenity of nature. She enjoyed fishing, camping and nurturing her garden with a green thumb. She was a hardworking, resilient, and compassionate person who embraced life's challenges with grace and gave selflessly to those she loved.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for providing comfort and support during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Little Pass Baptist Church, located at 2857 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, LA 70523. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with services following at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Chris Holloway. The celebration will continue after the service until 1:30 PM.

Debra and I used to be inseparable. I will not ever forget the great times we had together. One out of several of my favorite memories of Debra is her always wanting me to sing for her or whoever was around as if I can actually sing. I understand why she may have thought I could sing because I also thought I could sing after we have had a few.

Debra had a unique laugh that I heard constantly and I loved every bit of it. She used to tell me that I made her face hurt because I always had her laughing. We have always had a great time!

Unfortunately we grew apart because well...I guess I had to start acting more responsible and do the adult thing BUT when we would talk or meet up every so often, even if we hadn´t seen each other in a long time, we never skipped a beat.

I will always remember you Debra. I love you and your family dearly. R.I.P "my road dog." Until we meet again...
