Debra Hurley

Debra Flythe Hurley, age 71, of Barco, NC, died on Friday, October 3, 2025. Born in Portsmouth, VA on July 23, 1954, to the late William Roy Flythe, Sr. and Mildred Flythe, she was the widow of Don Richard Hurley.
Debra pursued her education at Tidewater Community College, where she earned an Associate of Applied Science in Civil Engineering and in Engineering Technology and Civil Engineering Drafter, a role in which she applied her skills and dedication diligently. In addition, she participated in the landscaping business her husband started, contributing her talents and hard work to every endeavor she undertook.
Debra leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Hurley Pluchta, and her son-in-law, Joseph. She also leaves behind her brother, William Roy Flythe, and sister, Dolores Stegall, who will cherish the memories they shared. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, as well as her cherished husband.
Debra's impact on those who knew her will be remembered with deep affection and admiration. Her life was a testament to her strength, compassion, and unwavering commitment to her family and career. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
