Beloved Sister
Debra L. McDermott, 67, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 following an extended illness. Debra lived most of her life in Lowell before moving to Epsom, NH in 2017. Born in Lowell on July 26, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Leo R. Lippe and Celestine "Sally" Ophar (Gomes) Lippe. She was educated in the Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Her first job was Murray Printing in Westford as a secretary. Later on, she moved over to Joan Fabrics as an office manager, and finally ended her working career at D'Youville Manor.
Debra enjoyed knitting and crocheting, designing and making clothes for her dolls. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Community Center in Epsom, NH. She liked to listen to Country Music. Debbie was very involved with craft shows in her area. She was very knowledgeable with technology and computers. Debbie was well liked no matter who she met. Her one and only trip with her sister Dottie and her brother Tom was to Largo, Florida to visit their brother David and his wife Denise for a great time. Most of all Debbie loved animals and her cat Bella.
Debbie is survived by her two brothers, Thomas J. "Tom" Lippe of Lowell, and David L. Lippe and his wife Denise (Sylvester) Lippe of Largo, FL; a sister, Nancy M. Vermette of Lowell; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was also the sister of the late Dorothy "Dottie" Albert who passed away April 27, 2025.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND DEBBIE'S CALLING HOURS ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2025, FROM 10 AM UNTIL 12 NOON, AT THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL. DEBBIE'S FUNERAL SERVICE WILL FOLLOW AT 12 NOON IN THE FUNERAL HOME. BURIAL WILL TAKE PLACE IN ST. JOSEPH'S CEMETERY, E. CHELMSFORD.
