Lee J. Knust
"Jim"
Lee J. Knust-"Jim" to family and friends-age 90, of Lowell, MA, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025. Born to Hazel and Harold Knust on January 12, 1935, in Romeo, Michigan, and brother to Patricia Hahn, he was a devoted husband to Annette Knust and loving father to Patricia Lalli, Susan Cox (deceased), Donna Lorman, James Knust and Edward Knust.
Jim was hard-working. He spent 35 years working as an equipment installer and foreman for the telephone company, where he was known for his great work ethic and dedication. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family.
Although he was a man of few words, he enjoyed being around family and friends. He had integrity and was very generous. He left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He served in the US Army for four years. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid cribbage player, enjoyed doing puzzles and playing computer games. He was a handy man and could tackle pretty much any job. Jim was very involved in the Catholic Church, serving as Eucharistic Minister, altar serving, and working on various committees. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knickerbocker Club in Lowell.
Jim is survived by his wife Annette; his children Patricia Lalli and her husband Victor; Donna Lorman and her husband Peter (deceased); James Knust and his wife Thea; Edward Knust and his wife Maureen; his grandchildren Elizabeth Paratore and her husband Joseph; Victor Lalli III; Katherine Lalli (deceased); Mathew Lalli; Christopher Cox; Jeremy Cox and his wife Gillian; Austin James Knust; Jesse Knust; Shannon Knust; and Jonathan Knust; his great grandchildren Cameron and Margaret Paratore; Eleanor and Francesco Cox; Sophie and Siena Cox, and Rhett Knust, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
We find comfort in knowing that Jim's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
Family and friends are invited to Jim's Calling Hours on Sunday, October 19, from 2 until 4 pm at the FAY MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL. Jim's Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20, at 10 am at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST. MARIE'S CHURCH, 75 Chamberlain Street, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
