Loomis Family Funeral Home - ApopkaDebra Newson, 63, of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on Friday October 10,2025. Debra was born in Jasper, Indiana on September 30, 1962 to Ronald Heichelbech and Barbara Wells.
Debra was strong-willed and stubborn with an enormous heart and contagious laughter. She was generous, loyal, and brave. Clever and full of knowledge gained through all of her life experiences. Debra was passionate about her family, kids, grandkids, Christmas, gardening and her job at Bridges of Orlando.
She will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved her family and friends - and if you knew her, you knew it.
Debra is survived by her children Keisha Wright Mertens (Mike); Darrius Heichelbech (Storey); Eric Heichelbech; Joseph Robinson (Fiance; Nevaeh); Bonus Daughter Brittany Hall; Grandchildren; Silas Heichelbech (Pumpkin); Kobyn Mertens (Peanut); beloved fur child Rocket; current husband Keith Newson; her former husband Eddie Robinson and father of her children; step-mother Jeanette Heichelbech; Brothers, Ronnie Joe Heichelbech (Melissa); Steve Heichelbech (Holly); Brad Heichelbech (Megan); several nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Heichelbech and Barbara Wells; and her grandparents.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Debra’s life at Bridges International of Orlando at the Cathedral of Saint Dismas Church on October 25, 2025 at 11am. Location: 2017 Mercy Drive, Orlando, Florida 32808.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in memory of Debra Newson to Cathedral of Saint Dismas Church at the Orlando Bridge.
