Debra Elizabeth Nickolas

Debra Elizabeth (Gottshall) Nickolas, 72, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Foxdale Village in State College. Born on September 20, 1951, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. and Joan H. (Fisher) Gottshall. In 1981, she married her beloved husband, Phillip E. Nickolas, Jr., who predeceased her on February 24, 2016, after sharing 35 years of marriage together.
Debra was a 1969 graduate of Susquehanna Township High School in Harrisburg. She worked for the Fish Commission and Department of Welfare for over 30 years until her retirement in 2014.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jeffery E. Gottshall.
Debra was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Selinsgrove. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed trips to Sanibel Island, Florida, where she took many walks along the beach, creating an extensive collection of seashells. Recently, she enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:30 AM, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 112 Fairview Drive, Selinsgrove, with Father Josh Cavender officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Orchard Hill Cemetery in Shamokin Dam. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
