McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - NorthDebra Lynn (Menchin) Nolan, a lifelong resident of Weymouth, died peacefully surrounded by those who loved her on Saturday, November 22, 2025. She was 57.
Debra was born in Boston on September 19, 1968. She was raised in Weymouth and was a proud graduate of Weymouth North High School before attending Mansfield Beauty School. Though she gained the skill to style hair, she ultimately discovered her true passions elsewhere. Connecting with people, caring for children, and bringing joy wherever she went.
Debra spent many years waitressing, a job that perfectly suited her warm, outgoing nature. She loved talking to people, sharing stories, and brightening someone’s day with her humor and kindness. Her most recent waitressing home was the Venetian in Weymouth, where she formed lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike.
Her greatest calling, however, was caring for children. Debra was a devoted nanny for many years and even had an at-home daycare so she could be present not only for her own children and grandchildren, but for countless others. She built lifelong bonds with the families she served, staying in touch with those she cared for as they grew into adults.
Debra had an energy and spirit that made her truly unforgettable. She loved people, being with them, laughing with them, and celebrating life with them. Fun, silly, and forever young at heart, she embraced every day with a free spirited joy. She wasn’t your average grandmother, Debbie was a fun Nanie. She danced, she joked, she played, and she made magic out of the simplest moments. She took her grandchildren to concerts, planned adventures big and small, and poured her heart into creating memories they will cherish forever.
Her honesty, curiosity, and compassion made her a comforting presence. She welcomed everyone, judged no one, and had a way of making people feel understood. Nothing shocked her, and nothing could dim her genuine, real, and open hearted nature.
Debra loved the beach, loved to read, and loved to travel. Bermuda held a special place in her heart; as did the many cruises and trips to New Hampshire she took with her husband. She went on vacation with her grandchildren at least once a year and always made those trips extra fun. She was always up for an adventure if that meant spending time with the people she loved most.
Above all, Debra lived fully and loved deeply. Her vibrant spirit, her laughter, and the warmth she brought into the world will live on in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
Debra was the beloved wife of Joseph J. Nolan, with whom she shared many loving years. She was a cherished daughter of Warren Menchin of Weymouth and the late Helen (Drury) Menchin. Debra was the devoted mother of Ashlee Taylor and her husband Derek of Norton, Chad Menchin and his partner Keith Tremblay of Braintree, Ethan Menchin-Schlager of Weymouth, and Brett Menchin-Schlager of Weymouth. She was the devoted stepmother of Mackenzi Nolan of Quincy, Joshua Nolan of Norton, Joseph Nolan Jr. and his wife Tiffany of South Boston. Debra was the loving grandmother of Aryssa and Owen, both of Norton, and the loving step grandmother of Samara, Damian, and Madeline Nolan, all of Quincy, and Talia Nolan of South Boston. Debra was the dear sister of Susan Smith and her husband Joseph of Canton, and Julie Burke and her husband Michael of Rockland. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 12-2 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square).
