Debra "Debi" Ellen Venne, age 67, of
Waynesville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri.
Debi was born on February 5, 1958, in Oakland, California to Harold and Joyce Venne. She was raised in the Catholic faith and remained a spiritual person, finding comfort in her personal faith. Throughout her childhood, she lived in many states but always considered Eureka, California, her true home. She graduated from Eureka High School with the Class of 1976.
Debi, a proud mother and grandmother, devoted much of her life to her greatest work, which was caring for her home and family. She found joy and purpose in creating a loving, comfortable space where others always felt welcome. Later in life, she proudly started her own cleaning business and became known as The Clean Queen, where she poured her strong work ethic and attention to detail into helping others.
She was very creative and had an adventurous spirit, with a gift for bringing beauty and joy into everything she did. Debi loved painting, calligraphy, jewelry making, and photography, and she had a special talent for baking - her desserts were always a highlight at any gathering.
In her younger years, she was an active athlete, playing basketball and volleyball and later coaching others. She had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and loved to travel, hike, camp, and explore new places. No matter where life took her, the beaches and redwoods of Northern California always felt like home.
Debi also had a lighthearted side and knew how to enjoy life's little pleasures. Whether it was savoring her favorite cold Pepsi Zero or sharing stories from her casino adventures, where her luck was almost legendary. Her laughter and sense of fun brightened every room she entered.
She was an avid animal lover, partial to dogs, and there was never a time where she didn't have at least two by her side. She also volunteered with the Waynesville/St. Robert Animal Shelter, fostering dogs and providing them with a loving home.
Debi will be remembered for her generous heart and her deep care for others. She had a special way of making people feel loved, whether through her thoughtful cards or simple acts of kindness.
Ms. Venne is survived by her two children, Kristen Carrell (Allan) of McKinney, Texas, and Jon Hughes (Emma) of Valley Park, Missouri; two grandchildren, Cole Carrell and Quinn Hughes; two sisters, Shelley Cook of Eureka, California, and Vicki Meyer of Lincoln, Nebraska; one brother, Mike Venne of Lewiston, Idaho; and one brother-in-law, Dennis Louy of Crescent City, California. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Joyce Venne; her sisters, Pamela Louy and her twin, Donna Venne; and her brother, Patrick Venne.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert, with a time of visitation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Waynesville/St. Robert Animal Shelter.
