Dee Allison Obituary

Dee Frank Allison

1939 ~ 2024

South Jordan, UT-A devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather returned to be with his Heavenly Father at the age 85 on Friday morning November 15, 2024. Born in the Park City Miners Hospital on June 25, 1939 to LaVor (Baldy) Allison & Mary Acher Allison. Raised in Park City, Utah. Back when it was an active mining town. He was the first of his family to not work in the mines.

Dee graduated from Park City High School in 1957 with a "large" class of 30. Dee was on the basketball, baseball and football teams. Dee was the Co-Captain of both the band, football team, and was the Senior Class President. There he met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Laura Lueen Siddoway. Married August 29, 1958, in the Park City Memorial Building, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 3 children, daughter Teri, and sons Jeff and Rick.

Dee was one of human connections. He always had time to chat with anyone he crossed. He was also a bit of a prankster and was known to be a bit of a troublemaker in school. Dee was one to share many stories, mainly from growing up in the small town of Park City. He captivated people with these stories, especially his great grandchildren who could not get enough of these "hilarious" and mischievous stories. He was an absolute avid handball player for 50+ years and played until the young age of 80. Dee loved going to the gym to work out and meeting the guys for lunch on Wednesdays even as recently as a week before he passed.

No matter what, he was always there for his family. Dee loved his family deeply and would do anything no matter when or what for every single one of them. Whether it was showing up to most events locally or traveling to Texas to watch and witness milestones. He made immense connections with each one of his children and then his grandchildren and even his great grandchildren. Their 3 children gave Dee and Lueen 15 grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittany, Christina, Alli, Justin, Allan, Ricky, Kevin Paul, Austin, Jordan (JJ), Meylssa, Toby, David, Bryan, and Daxton. So far they have been blessed with meeting 30 great grandchildren with more on the way.

He began working at 12 years old for McPolin Bottling Works and then advanced to Coca Cola Bottling upon graduation from high school. He began his career in the trucking business working for Garrett Freight lines at age 19 as a rate clerk and was promoted to terminal manager in Grand Jct. Colorado, Las Vegas and Reno Nevada making each terminal flourish. Upon moving to Reno he made the decision to reject further promotions so his family could stay in Reno. After 30 years in the trucking business he was thrilled to work with his son Jeff and his wife Tracy in the ski business where he served in all areas for 35 years and just recently retired. He was a natural with people and made a great impact in his work relationships and personal ones. Everyone loved Dee because he loved everyone.

One of his greatest loves was serving in the Draper Temple baptistry where he served for over 10 years. He especially loved working with the youth and looked forward to his Tuesday morning shifts. Dee was also a big advocate for blood donations. He gave often and was recognized for his donation milestones. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dee's life was guided by his commitment to his beliefs. He will be remembered for his loyalty and endless devotion to those he loved, love of family, love of country and love of people. He gave so much joy to everyone and has left a legacy filled with kindness and optimism.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Kay and 2 grandsons. He is survived by his wife Lueen, daughter Teri (Kevin), sons Jeff (Tracy) & Rick (Amy).

Memorial services celebrating Dee's life will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel on 11420 South 700 West, Draper Utah, with a visitation from 9:00am -10:00am and the service to follow at 10:30am.
