Mrs. Christopher passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in Nacogdoches. She was born on August 27, 1962 in Houston.
There is so much that could be said about Dee Christopher but to sum it up as simply as possible, she was a hard-working, dedicated woman who loved deeply and completely. Her family and closest friends were the sunshine in her life and to know her was to love her! She put her all into everything she started, made sure her family was taken care of, showed up when no one else would and was always the first to say "let's go"! Dee was a woman of her word, devoted and loving and inside the hard shell she sometimes put up, she was the most kind and generous person that could be found.
Dee grew up here in the Pineywoods of East Texas alongside her siblings and finally settled in Shady Grove Community for the past 40 years. She learned great values that were at her core. These old-time values guided her life every day. Dee married the love of her life, Alan Christopher, on May 16, 1980 and their family was completed with the birth of their 2 children that she loved so very much. Courtney and Alan were the best part of her. In 2005, Dee was devastated with the loss of her husband but her intense drive carried her through and a couple of years ago, when she was blessed with her first and only grandchild, her tender "Gaga" heart shown through with great brilliance. She loved A Jay more than life itself and happily spent most of her extra time with him, making sure he knew how much she loved him. He was her greatest joy.
Over the years, Dee has served the great people of Nacogdoches while working at Expert Tire, Boatman Tire and spent the past 7 years with her Gound Chevrolet family, who she loved dearly. When she wasn't working, she was fishing or making the most of every moment with "The Girls". They spent many evenings and weekends enjoying her special Kentucky Deluxe and sharing stories and more laughs than should be allowed! Her "girls" were her favorites and the memories they shared will not be forgotten.
Dee will forever be remembered for her "can do" attitude, her constant desire to live life to the fullest, her love for her family and friends and especially the time she had with her precious A Jay.
Dee is survived by her greatest blessings: children, Courtney Christopher, Alan Christopher & wife, Shannon and her precious grandson, Alan James Christopher (A Jay); sisters, Bettie Brown, Dana Stevens & husband Dave Cronkrite, Vanessa Gaddy and Janet Letney & husband, Dick; brother-in-law, Richard Charette; sisters-in-law, Glenda Brown, Barbara Christopher and Sarah Nichols; she was also loved by her special friends, Brenda Mathews and Tiffany Owens and her friend of more than 40 years, Mary Lyles Hardy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other very close friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan Christopher, Sr.; parents, Dan and Dovie; sister, Linda Charette; brother, James Brown; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shane Stevens, LaRue Wright, Mike Gaddy, Johnnie Almond, Bobby Christopher, Billy & Ann Christopher, Tommy Christopher and Verdell & Helen Christopher.
Serving as Pallbearers are: Alan Christopher, Dave Cronkrite, Christopher Ady, Anthony Ady, Bobby Christopher and Thomas Owens.
Honorary Pallbearer is Raymond Mathews.
