Delbert Gail Rainey, born on July 28, 1945, in Trezvant, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on September 16, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who dedicated his life to his family and community.

Delbert was not only an elder at the Liberty Church of Christ but also a well-respected business owner, having operated Dresden Auto/Napa since 1972. His commitment to serving the community through his business was one of his proudest accomplishments, as he fostered relationships with many local residents.

Delbert was blessed with a close-knit family. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Doris Rainey, and their children: son Dustin (LeeAnn) Rainey and daughter Dawn (Randal) Walker. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Morgan (Hunter) Orman, Alivia Rainey, Megan Walker, and Dax Rainey. He is also survived by his sister Betty Wray King and several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Delbert had a lifelong passion for tractors, longhorn cattle, and antique cars. His enthusiasm for these interests reflected his vibrant personality and love for the simple pleasures in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer Herbert Rainey and Roberta Cole, as well as his brothers, Dorris Rainey and Dwight Rainey.

A graveside service will be held on September 18, 2025, at Liberty Cemetery in Dresden, Tennessee. Friends and family are invited to gather at 11:00 AM. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Bro. Steve Boone and Phil Meeks will officiate the ceremony, and Delbert will be honored by pallbearers Dana Cooper, Mark Cooper, Jason Baucum, Cory Baucum, Shawn Rennison, Rick Willis, Clay Higgs, and Casey Drewry.

Delbert Gail Rainey's legacy of kindness, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact he made on his community and family will endure forever.
