Our loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 93 years.
Delfina was born on December 24, 1931, daughter of the late Juan and Estefana (Alonzo) Godina, in Fentress, Texas. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse with 39 dedicated years of service. Delfina was a faithful member of Church of God 7th Day and loved to read the Bible. She enjoyed working in her yard and making her delicious tamales for her family to enjoy. Delfina was very loving not only to her family she also loved and nurtured the children in her neighborhood. She will be remembered for having a caring spirit and her love for the Lord.
Delfina is survived by her daughter, Esther Castillo; grandchildren, Adam (Belinda) Castillo, Christina Castillo (Kevin), Sierra Castillo (Jovon) and Emilio Castillo; great grandchildren, Drew Fisher Castillo, Savannah Castillo, Seth Castillo (Priscilla), Annalisa Castillo, Santino Anderson and Zaylen Haney; great-great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Isabella, Valentino, Yazlin, Achilleus and Lealani; and her special niece, Linda (Joseph) Rodriguez. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Castillo, Jr., great grandson, Izha Cain Castillo, four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, December 20, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Pastor Steve Rodriguez will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
