Delfina (Del) Garcia, age 96 passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2025 with her children Mark Garcia and Melissa (Garcia) Goralka at her side. Del was born December 8, 1928 in Tulare, California.
She was born at Tulare District Hospital, the youngest child of parents Palmira and Emydio Cordeiro. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Danny Garcia, parents, and siblings Mary Machado, Hilda Soares, and Emydio Cordeiro, Jr.
She was always dedicated to her family, church and community. She married the love of her life Danny Garcia in 1961 and continued to live in the home they built together. She supported him in his business and managed the family household.
She was committed to her family and never missed a performance or opportunity to celebrate events. Recently, she was excited to witness and celebrate the high school graduations of her grandchildren. She will be remember by her beloved niece Marylou Mello as "kind of a big deal, to all of us".
Del's faith was highly important to her life. She was past president and active member of St Peter Prince of Apostles Catholic Church Altar Society and lifetime member of Stratford IDES Portuguese Community. She most recently enjoyed being part of the St Peters' prayer quilt group who provided quilts for those in need.
Equally important to Del was her community. She loved and valued friends she met in her lifetime. She was a regular at exercise classes at Lemoore Recreation Center. She also enjoyed many family travels, especially enjoying regular trips to Morro Bay.
Survivors include her two children Mark Garcia and Melissa (Garcia) Goralka, Mark Goralka (son-in-law) and her grandchildren Connor Goralka and Carter Goralka. She is survived by 36 nieces and nephews and over 50 great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, 2025 from 400pm-700pm at Phipps Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. The Vigil Rosary service will be held at St. Peter Church in Lemoore on September 16, 2025 at 1130am. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1200pm with burial following at Lemoore Cemetery.
Gifts of Remembrance can be sent to Mary Immaculate Queen School 884 N. Lemoore Avenue, Lemoore CA 93245
