SALEM – Mrs. Delia (Santeusanio) Losolfo, 88, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Antonio Losolfo, died peacefully, December 21st, 2025 with her family by her side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Villa Tucci, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Marianna Santeusanio. She was raised and educated in Villa Tucci, Italy. Delia married her old childhood friend Antonio in 1956 and they would spend their lives together full of love and devotion to family. Delia and Antonio immigrated to the United States in 1960, arriving through Ellis Island and then settling in Lynn. After a few years they bought some land, built a house in Salem and made a neighborhood their new family homestead. Her early childhood living in Italy during World War II, built a courage and strength that would guide her throughout her life. She overcame many obstacles and continuously sought to have a better life for not only herself but for her family in every action she took.
Mrs. Losolfo began her professional career as a leather worker with the Star Sports Wear Company of Lynn and had also been associated with the former JM Fields Company. She matriculated to Salem State College where she worked in the maintenance department for over 20 years until the time of her retirement in 1999.
A longtime resident of the city of Salem, Delia loved to cook and spend her time sewing and knitting. Family was her true focus and at the center of her life. She lived to love her family. She sacrificed so they could have, in the most loving way possible. She met all of life’s challenges with unwavering courage and strength. Delia navigated life’s hurdles with incredible fortitude, even battling cancer for over 26 years, never complaining never discouraged; always pushing forward. She was a great role model to her children and grandchildren.
Despite difficult and humble beginnings, she built a life rich in love and devotion of family. Devotion and love of her husband of 67 years, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who all affectionately called her Nonna, will be her everlasting hallmark. She will be deeply missed.
