Delilah was born November 25, 1977, in Waukegan Illinois
She graduated from Brookside East Campus of Special Education in 1999 at the age of 21.
She was known as Binky, Lila, Lalita, Mama, Sister, Sugar and Sweetie. During her school years she participated in the Waukegan Park District Special Recreation Programs. There she enjoyed the arts and crafts, field trips, sports, swimming, and the many dance events. She joined The Special Olympics for the 50-yard dash and soft ball throwing throw earning the bronze, silver and gold medals with countless ribbons up into her 30's when she decided she only wanted the dance events.
She attended the Little City workshop for 11 years. There she did assemblage work, arts and crafts and made many friends.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her parents Rose M. (Melendez) Staben and Hector L. Vega; sister Eillen; brothers Daniel Hector Jr., Marcos, Marcus and Pancho; uncles Angel, Felix Jr., Israel and Santo; aunts Ada, Carmen, Estell, Minerva, Nellie, Laura, Lucy and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her grandparents; Felix M. Sr. and Ana M. Melendez, Luis and Gloria Vega; brother (baby) Isaac; uncles Angel, Eladeo and Isaac; aunts Martha and Porfiria; brother Moises M. Vega; stepfather Milton E. Staben.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan located at 1521 Washington St. Waukegan, IL, 60085.
