DeLisa Renae McGregory was born on May 9, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Gwendolyn Quick and Earl Richardson. On July 15, 2025, Lisa went home to be with her Lord and Savior, leaving behind a legacy of bold love, unfiltered honesty, and an unshakable zest for life.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Lisa was educated in the Des Moines Public School system and proudly graduated from Roosevelt High School. Despite facing numerous medical challenges throughout her life, Lisa never let anything slow her down. She embodied resilience. She could have coined the now popular phase: "We Outside." Whether rain or shine, if there was an event happening-especially one outdoors-Lisa was there. Parades held a special place in her heart; even if there was only one person marching, she was front and center, cheering them on.

A true social butterfly in the digital world, Lisa was a queen of social media. She posted daily, commented often, and brought her vibrant energy into every online interaction. But what truly defined Lisa was her authenticity. She was raw and uncut. You never had to guess what she was thinking-Lisa would tell you, with or without a filter. She had strong opinions, and if you've ever dined with her, you knew she challenged every menu like it was a negotiation. And somehow, she always won.

Yet beneath her tough exterior was a heart of gold. Lisa loved fiercely and deeply. She was loyal, protective, and went out of her way to help those she cared for. Her faith in God was unwavering. She openly testified about His grace, mercy, and healing power, always giving glory to the One who carried her through.

Lisa would be thrilled and honored by the outpouring of love being shown today. If she were here, her phone would be out capturing photos of everyone-ready to post to Facebook whether you wanted her to or not. She loved people, moments, and memories. And she made sure no one forgot them.

They truly broke the mold when they made DeLisa Renae McGregory. If you knew Lisa-you knew Lisa.

She was preceded in death by her mother Gwendolyn Quick, father Earl Richardson, stepfather Ronald Quick, and maternal grandmother Mildred Miller.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Shauntez Bruce and Andrew McGregory, both of Des Moines; her siblings Cheryl Hayes, Korte McGregory, and ToiAne Patton, all of Des Moines; her treasured grandchildren Avery, Shawntay, Aundrea, Emerie, Shaniya, Alyrec, Amarielle, Ahnesdi, Ariezyn, and Aroyal; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Now, the three musketeers are back together-Delisa has reunited with her best friends, Lena Gross and Robin Thomas. Watch over us, Lisa, until we meet again.

You will be missed more than words can say. Rest in power, rest in peace.
