Della M. Russell, 82 of Alba, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 at home. Born in Kentucky on April 9, 1938, she was the daughter of Everett and Julia Blevins.
On July 1, 1955, Della married Milton, the love of her life. Together, they had six children. Della was a stay at home, raising her children and that was her pride and joy. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years where she enjoyed teaching children about Jesus. She enjoyed quilting, taking care of her flowers, reading and studying the Bible and spending quality time with her family. She and her husband enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida.
Della is survived by her husband, Milton; her children, Kenneth (Phyllis) Russell of Petersburg, Milton (Nanci) Russell of Palmetto, FL., Richard Russell of Bradenton, FL., Ronald (Donna) Russell of Alba, Rita (Steve) Nevers of Alba and Jeff Russell of Wyocena, WS; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Claris (Gene) Blackburn, Geraldine Sperry, James (Jean) Blevins, LeRoy (Sharon) Blevins, Paul Blevins, Larry (Betty) Blevins and a brother-in-law, Bob Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wanda (Gene) Welch, Mary Mackinnon, Pam Murphy and Virgil Blevins.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, June 29, 2020 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside service will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Star Township Cemetery in Alba. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home, P.O. Box 249, Gaylord MI 49734.
