Delmer Miller, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born June 13, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He departed this life to rejoin his sons on July 7, 2025, at his home in Chandler at the age of 80 years.
Delmer was the son of Virgil and Mary Ina (Palmer) Miller. He grew up in Chandler and graduated from Chandler High School in 1962. Delmer married Martha Sue Devins on June 16, 1966, at Forest Baptist Church south of Chandler. Delmer was a hard worker, starting at the age of 17 he worked at the Howard Johnsons on the Turnpike in Chandler, he went on to work at Tom Bays Grocery Store in Chandler for 25 years, then worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority while owning and operating Miller Deer Processing. Delmer was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard and a long-time member of the Chandler Ag Boosters. He loved hunting and fishing, going to Miller Mountain in Arkansas, taking care of his cows, coaching ball when his children were young, going to the casino, and watching his grandchildren in their numerous activities.
Delmer was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend, truly one of a kind, he will be greatly missed.
Preceding Delmer in death are his parents, Virgil and Mary Ina; two sons, Devin and Darren; three brothers, James Edward, William and Wayne and two sisters, Mary and Kay.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Martha Sue Miller; one daughter and son-in-law, Deidra and Nick McMillan; five grandchildren, Kyler, Taygen, Jackson, Jillian, Jake; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Mary Jo Miller, Doyle and Linda Miller, George and Sharon Miller; one daughter-in-law, BaLinda Miller; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, two very special boys Caleb Lee and Levi Lee; and many special friends.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Chandler First Baptist Church, with Rev. Wesley Paul Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
