Delmon Young, Sr. Obituary
Delmon "Follis" Young, Sr., 90, of New Salisbury, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. He was a retiree from Ford Motor Company in Louisville.
He was born on April 11, 1934 in Buck Creek, Kentucky to Barner and Sarah (Tomes) Young. Follis is survived by his wife of 72 years, Shirley (Luther) Young; children, Delmon Young, Jr. (Linda), Michael Young (Garnetta), Susan Fries (Daniel), Sherry Love (Gary), Sharon Schroeder (Danny); grandchildren, Tracey Young, Kristie Gordon, Jason Young (Melissa), Melissa Collins (Daniel), Jennifer Walden (Lewis), Theresa Fries, Rebecca May (Shawn), Angela Crow (James), Nathan Love (Liz), Alyssa Johnson, Emily, Evan, Josh Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Brandyn, Summer, Savannah, Jayde, Alex, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Paul, Abby, Olivia, Adaline, Jaelyn, Will and Joey.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). He will be laid to rest privately at a later date at Rogers Campground Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Beehive Assisted Living for resident activities (1040 Estate Drive, Georgetown, IN 47122).
