Mr. Delno McClure, age 79 of Mt. Vernon passed away Tuesday September 20, 2022 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. He was born on January 8th, 1943 in Blue Springs, Kentucky, a son of the late Johnny and Fannie Vance McClure. He was a retired Rockcastle County Deputy Sheriff and Constable. He also served in various county and civic organizations such as the Rockcastle County Ambulance Service and the local rescue squad, among others. He enjoyed coon hunting and was a member of the Rockcastle County Coon Club.
Survivors are: His wife; Linda Doan McClure of Mt. Vernon, two sons; Carlos McClure (Jessica) of Mt. Vernon and Tommy McClure (Donna) of Mt. Vernon, two daughters; Darlene McClure Blackburn of Mt. Vernon and Melissa Ann Marler of Sand Hill, Kentucky. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, in addition to numerous friends, neighbors and relatives. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, by three brothers; Zade, Shirley and Sherman McClure, and four sisters; Etta Evans, Fredda Phelps, Birtie Fish and Berniece Rice. Funeral services for Mr. Delno McClure will be conducted on Friday September 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marcus Reppert officiating. Burial will follow at the First Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery (Tom Stevens Cemetery) in Sand Springs. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday September 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
