Delois Florene Roden Lawrimore, 92, of Town Creek, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 at The Cottage of the Shoals in Tuscumbia. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Fred Childs officiating. Burial will be at Old Bethel Cemetery.
Born on September 28, 1932 to the late Odie and Jannie South Roden, Delois enjoyed sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and Alabama Softball. She also enjoyed watching game shows, sewing, quilting and going out to eat with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Delton (Rita) Lawrimore, and Phillip (Lisa) Lawrimore, grandchildren, Lucius (Adrienne) Lawrimore, Landon (Chelsea) Lawrimore, Bradley Lawrimore, Wesley Lawrimore, Nakisha (Kelly) Blankenship, Ashley (Jeremy Hood) Bradford, Chelsea Lawrimore, and Macy (Kyle) Gunn; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Grisham; brother, Curtis (Rachel) Roden; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Delois was preceded in death by her husband Herman Lawrimore; son, Gary Lawrimore; parents; sisters, Martha Seahorn, and Dorothy King, her twin; great-grandson, Ian Calhoun.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Blankenship, Jeremy Hood, Tim Warren, and Kyle Gunn.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff at Cottage of the Shoals for their wonderful care given to Delois.
