Delores Albery was born on February 20, 1936, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Wes and Babe Law. She passed away on June 9, 2025 at her home in Gillette, Wyoming.

On December 26, 1954, she married the love of her life, Gene Albery, and the adventures began! Together, they lived in eight states and British Columbia, forming friendships that have lasted decades.

“Mean Dee,” as Dad lovingly called her, was the proud mother of two daughters, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother to sixteen. She beamed with pride over her family's accomplishments and spent years traveling across the country with Gene to support their grandchildren in sports—once even chaperoning a baseball trip to Australia.

Delores had a competitive streak and loved playing cards, especially Texas Hold ’Em and Hand & Foot. One of her favorite stories was winning a significant “Bad Beat” jackpot in Kansas.

An avid outdoorswoman, Dee loved hunting and fishing. She and Gene spent countless weeks scouting deer and elk in the mountains—sometimes staying up there for a month at a time. They only came down when they ran out of water or chocolate—two absolute essentials for Mom. Although she never got the chance to shoot an elk, it remained a dream she held onto.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Gene.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Rob) Grandy and Janet (Tim) Freeman; her grandchildren, Lindsay (Isaiah) Kuhbacher, Josh (Megan) Petersen, Phil Edwards, and Cort (Brittany) Petersen; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many friends and other family members, including her bonus grandchildren Jady and Kena.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Post 42 Riders Baseball. The family will purchase a brick in remembrance of Papa and Nowie to be displayed at the Riders Field.
